KETTLEBELL WORKSHOP SELECTION A ‘kettlebell’ or girya is a traditional cast iron weight that looks like a cannonball with a handle. The kettlebell is one of few modalities that works effectively and efficiently to create force through the whole body. Timing and coordination, as well as strength and energy, are benefited equally due to its offset center of gravity. Even the lighter kettlebells challenge the body far quicker than traditional exercise weights. If you believe that strength is created by combining skill and technique then the kettlebell is the modality for you. Learn how to safely and effectively the kettlebell into your training practice.
Kettlebell 101 – Setting the Foundation This introductory workshop provides you with a solid introduction to the kettlebell covering how to perform the foundational kettlebell lifts with one kettlebell in a clear and understandable progression that is detailed with all safety and preparation issues. 90 minutes is all it takes to get you started with this great tool, to understand the theory, to practice the basic lifts, and get you ready to safely add kettlebell training into your present practice. Our workshop includes a manual for future reference. Kettlebells are available for purchase at the workshop. Please contact Kari below to arrange a time for you.

Your Instructor Since 1983, Marty Hansen has been coaching and training individuals, groups, teams and companies to success. Marty is one of an elite group of 35 individuals in Canada to attain a Level 4 CSIA and Level 4 CSCF certified coach / instructor. A former National, World Champion and Olympic coach for Alpine skiing, Marty has also developed coaching and training systems for the Canadian Ski Coaches Federation, BC Alpine and Skiing Australia. Among Marty’s list of personal training clients, he trains the high performance ski and snowboard programs for COP, and contributes to Impact magazine. Marty established M-2 Sport Inc. in 2007.
